Ok, since no one seems to have guessed it, the answer is:

Cloak and Dagger (1984) shot on location here in San Antonio, TX, and starring many actors from Texas (Henry Thomas of E.T. fame, and Dabney Coleman, among others) Very Happy

Great 80s movie; see it some time if you have not already... Wink
