Digital Underground released this, their debut album in March of 1990. As such, it missed the 80s by only 3 months.  However, their party rap style was very similar to other artists of the same time frame (Young M.C., Kid N Play, Tone Loc, etc.) before gangster rap took hold in the early 90's. Big hits from this album include "The Humpty Dance" and "Doowutchyalike." Please listen, enjoy, and vote if you'd like to see them added to the playlist, thanks!

I voted but with a strong maybe. I associate Digital Underground, specifically songs like The Humpty Dance with the 90's hip hop sound versus the 80's artists, such as those mentioned by Ferris.
I could see why JERIC wouldn't allow it but wouldn't put up any arguments if the albums/songs were added. |
