That's because those albums are dedicated to 80's music.

6 quick points: 1) The 80's are over. Starting next year, the most recent albums (from '89), will each be 30 years old. That's a long time. Times have changed, and the world has moved on, so it only makes sense that we should as well. 2) As great as many of the musicians from this decade were, most of them are now retired, and quite a few are deceased. For those who are still touring, many can't perform as well as they did in their prime. Fewer still are putting out completely new material, and it's even more rare to find great new songs from these artists. 3) There are many *NEW* musicians / groups who are still making music in the style of the 80's, who are creating songs every bit as good as what came out in the 80's. These groups may continue if they are rewarded for creating music people enjoy, but they may also quit if they aren't. Bands like Dance With The Dead, Gunship, FM-84, FM Attack, and The Midnight are all doing the spirit of the 80's proud, and should be supported. Furthermore, their music is often very low-cost AND high-quality, when compared with the $40, or $100, or $400 you might spend for a rare CD from a genuine 80's group. 4) If you don't want to support the new Retrowave groups, you don't have to. Kanye West and Cardi B will always have an audience, and if those artists (or others) are more to your liking, you can always listen to them elsewhere instead. 5) None of your favorite musicians from the 80's are going anywhere. There are still many, many unknown / lesser-known musicians from the 80's on the site for you to discover and enjoy, and I sincerely doubt you've listened to all the music on the site. I certainly cannot claim to have done so. 6) If there is a musician or group which you feel has been unfairly neglected, you are more than welcome to donate a CD (or CDs) of theirs, or the digital files of your choice. If you would like a quick reminder, the Requests Forum on this site lists the major albums which have not been added yet. In short, yes, there will probably be a few more genuine 80's groups in the next update, but much of the good stuff is here already. So, it only makes sense to start adding more Retrowave artists as well.
