The Pursuit Of Happiness - Love Junk
|
Moe pursues happiness in Canada. |
|
Canadian group based out of Toronto, Moe Berg had that specific voice that some have compared to a more angst-filled Wierd Al Yankovic.
Drummer, Dave Gilby also had a very distinctive and identifiable sound.
"Hard to Laugh", another track on this album (not downloaded here....yet???)
was another big hit in the Great White North.
Their follow up album, one sided story is another worthy listen to, too.

Invisible Hands is the best song on the album.

Alannah Myles - Alannah Myles
|
Need a few more tracks available |
|
Alannah Myles, Canadian, and a cool vocalist. This, her debut album, featured her break out song "Love Is" which ruled Canadian music charts for months. "Black Velvet" a tribute to Elvis.
Ironically we still don't got "Still Got This Thing" from this album. Could always use more tracks from this Album.

The Album name is Actually "Bridge of Spies" and not Tpau and has some really good other Tracks like "China in your Hands" and "Intimate strangers" , "Bridge of Spies", "Valentine" and "Sex Talk" all Good Tracks in fact the Whole Album was No 8 in the Top 100 Albums of 1987. Carol Decker the lead singer was born just up the Road from where I used to live in Telford Shropshire so have followed her for longtime. Would love to see more Tracks Good Band and Good Singer all round

Enya - Watermark
|
Pure Celtic Chillout |
|
If you like Smooth Instrumental Music - THIS is your Album (although there is some Vocals in it but they match Music so well) Enya hailed from the Family Band of CLANNAD who are also Celticly inclined and have created Soundtracks to the Like of TV Show Robin Hood plus more but ENYA found it to restricting in the Band and Toddled off on her own Venture and Watermark is her first Album she has Written and Produced herself and done a bang up job and to date has released 9 Albums to my Knowledge all based on the Celtic themes with the occaisional Monastic song thrown in - She has even ventured into Filim having provided some Music to LOTR
But this Album will always be one of my Faves of hers

Phil Collins "Face Value" was his first solo record released in 1981 and it definitely set the pattern for what we would come to expect from him in the next decade. Up to this point he was the drummer and then lead singer of Genesis and after this record he was a star. I happen to be a fan of the Peter Gabriel era Genesis more than the Phil version but I'm the first to admit that Collins has his appeal. He certainly found a musical niche for himself with a combination of horn driven pop coupled with ballads. Throughout the remainder of the 80's Collins was one of the top selling artists but when combined with his Genesis output; he was everywhere.
