Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast, The
Children of the Damned
By: fatback
Date: 30 Jun 2009

This dark and compelling track is inspired by the 1963 film of the same name, which is about six children with psychic abilities who are forced to battle for their survival against an inferior human race. The sing describes the death of the last of the children. With only one child left, the song follows his last moments as he steps out to face the humans which are intent on destroying him by burning him at the stake.

The story of the film is that of six children who are born at different locations around the world with amazingly high intelligence and special powers. Scientists from the United Nations have the children move to London fro further tests. While the researchers argue about what to do with them, the military already has a plan for them. However, the six children take matters in their own hands.

The dreamiest album from this great trio. Angelic voice from Elizabeth Fraser floating in the air and the magic of Robin Guthrie's guitar.

Judas Priest - British Steel

When it comes to talent, this band is packed full of it. This album has songs and riffs on it to make you stop procrastinating about picking up the guitar and learning something new. Steady driving beats and vocals unattainable by most other singers at that time and even still today, this album is one of the best metal albums ever.

Well, for some, this album was just another reminder that there were too many hair bands out there. For others who listened, it was a great display of talented musicians. If you like interesting guitar licks, a fairly good vocalist and dont mind only likeing half an album, buy this. Two or three songs off this album MIGHT make you feel glad you bought it.

Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction
Appetite For Destruction

When this album came out, it was a time when metal was seeing a bit of a decline caused by feminine looking rock bands. This album boosted the amount of die-hard metal fans and introduced a very legit rock n roll band who would outlast many others. Axle's wild sounding vocals and metalhead attitude with Slash's catchy guitar riffs set GNR apart from other "new" bands. This album will always be one of my favorites. A must have for guitarists.

For Those About To Rock

Brian Johnson may not have surpassed the bluesy yet raunchy voice of Bon Scotts, but was responsible for adding vocal power to the already hyper guitar sound of Angus Young. This album was one of the greatest of Brians carreer with AC/DC. I give it 5 adrenaline pumps out of 5.
